Lodge Chief

1. Elected from the youth membership of the Lodge. Responsible to the Scout Executive through the Lodge Adviser and Staff Adviser for performance of duties. Becomes an Ex Officio member of the Council Executive Board and the Camping and Properties Committee.

2. Responsible for adherence to the program and policies of the Lodge. Attend appropriate Council, section, regional, and national OA functions.

3. Work closely with the Lodge Adviser, seeking advice and training. He does not wait for his Adviser to call, but calls the Adviser often. Establish annual goals and objectives for the Lodge including attainment of Quality Lodge recognition.

4. Attend all Lodge activities and Lodge Executive Committee meetings. Promote attendance and participation of Lodge officers and committee chairmen.

5. Appoint Lodge operating committee chairmen in consultation with the Lodge Adviser and Lodge Staff Adviser.

6. Assign Lodge members to operating committees

7. Remind Lodge officers and committee chairmen to attend meetings of Lodge operating committees related to their assignments.

8. Preside over all Lodge and Lodge Executive Committee meetings. Work from an agenda established by the Key 3. Solicit agenda items from Lodge officers and committee chairmen.

9. Responsible for planning and conducting Lodge activities.

10. Delegate his duties to fellow Lodge officers and committee chairmen.

11. See that the chapter program (when so organized) gives complete support to the Lodge program.

12. Undertake Lodge service projects with the advice and approval of his Adviser.

13. Appoint the Vigil Honor Nominating Committee.

14. Promote the correct wearing of the Scout uniform by personal example and special Lodge education programs.

15. Work with the Adviser in providing his Lodge officers and chairmen with unit contact information.

Vice Chief Program

1. Attend all Lodge activities and LEC meetings. Responsible to Lodge Chief for performance of duties.

2. Responsible for planning fun, interesting, and meaningful activities for all Lodge events.

3. Work closely with the committee chairmen who report to him to ensure they are completing their assigned duties.

4. Manage Lodge participation in Council Camp Promotion program. Assure that all units are contacted and provided with an opportunity for a Camp Promotion visit.

5. Manage Lodge participation in Section Conclaves. Assure

6. Manage Lodge service program in Council and Community.

7. Work with the Banquet Chairman to plan the annual Lodge banquet.

8. Set the example for youth and adult Arrowmen by correctly wearing the Scout uniform with the proper badges and insignia correctly placed.

9. Other duties as assigned by the Lodge Chief and/or Advisers.

Vice Chief Membership & Elections

1. Attend all Lodge activities and LEC meetings. Responsible to Lodge Chief for performance of duties.

2. Work closely with the committee chairmen who report to him to ensure they are completing their assigned duties.

3. Manage unit elections. Assure that the Lodge conducts an election in every unit that desires one and that teams conducting the election are well-trained and in proper uniform when conducting the election.

4. Manage OA Troop/Team Representative Program. Assure that the Lodge recruits, trains, and maintains contact with Troop Team Representatives.

5. Present recommended candidates to Lodge Adult Selection Committee as necessary.

6. Set the example for youth and adult Arrowmen by correctly wearing the Scout uniform with the proper badges and insignia correctly placed.

7. Other duties assigned by the Lodge Chief and/or Advisers.

Vice Chief of Ceremonies and Induction

1. Attend all Lodge activities and LEC meetings. Responsible to Lodge Chief for performance of duties.

2. Work closely with the committee chairmen who report to him to ensure they are completing their assigned duties.

3. Manage all ceremonies, including Call-Out, Pre-Ordeal, Ordeal, Brotherhood, and Vigil. Assure that ceremonies are conducted with honor and dignity.

A. Find personnel to perform the ceremonies, and ensure that all of the parts are memorized.

B. Perform Pre-Ordeal, Ordeal, and Brotherhood ceremonies. Conduct other Lodge or unit ceremonies (Call-Out, "Bridging", etc.) as requested.

C. Acquire the proper costuming for all ceremonies.

D. Keep accurate records of current ceremonial team members, future members, and scheduling practices for the team.

E. Prepare equipment and supplies needed for ceremonies such as lanterns, torches, candles, etc.

F. Transport materials to the ceremonial ring or to the proper location and prepare the performance site(s).

G. Maintain and prepare the ceremonial ring.

H. Operate the Brotherhood Trail.

I. Use and adhere to the Guide to Inductions to ensure a successful Inductions program.

4. Manage Elangomat Program to assure recruitment and training of sufficient Elangomats to lead Ordeal candidates through the power of example.

5. Set the example for youth and adult Arrowmen by correctly wearing the Scout uniform with the proper badges and insignia correctly placed.

6. Other duties as assigned by the Lodge Chief and/or Advisers.

Secretary

1. Attend all Lodge activities and LEC Meetings.

2. Keep accurate minutes of all Lodge Meetings. Minutes will be printed and sent to the Lodge Chief, Lodge Adviser, Staff Adviser, and Council Executive within ten (10) days.

3. Update the Lodge mailing list and forward complete mailing list including phone numbers to each member of the LEC. Publish updates as needed and at least once per year.

4. Maintain, review, and update an inventory list of every member’s skills, at least once yearly. Provide this list to the Lodge Chief and Advisers.

5. Publish notice of all Lodge meetings.

6. Collect Lodge dues and transmit them to the Treasurer.

7. Notify inactive members of their impending loss of privileges.

8. Maintain Lodge membership records.

9. Conduct Lodge correspondence, such as thank-you notes.

10. Set the example for youth and adult Arrowmen by correctly wearing the Scout uniform with the proper badges and insignia correctly placed.

11. Other duties as assigned by Lodge Chief and/or Advisers.

Treasurer

1. Attend all Lodge activities and LEC meetings.

2. Supervise the finance committee.

3. Initiate meetings for the reconciliation of Lodge financial records twice a year. Preparation for these meetings should be completed with the assistance of the Lodge Financial Adviser, prior to meeting with the Council bookkeeper.

4. Collect money for all Lodge activities.

5. Make records available for inspection at any time by the Lodge Chief or the Lodge Adviser.

6. Maintain a Lodge store. Order supplies under supervision from the Financial Adviser and the approval of the LEC and Scout Executive.

7. Set the example for youth and adult Arrowmen by correctly wearing the Scout uniform with the proper badges and insignia correctly placed.

8. Other duties as assigned by Lodge Chief and/or Advisers.
